Should We be Alarmed?

Here of late it has been difficult to understand and accept the fact that we seem to be out of control in our behaviors to the point that it is scary to leave the comforts of home. Even home is not safe, the job is not safe, and neither is the church; despite alarm systems and sophisticated door and window locks.

It has been shown that there is nothing new under the sun. History repeats itself. We are not talking about ten or twenty years, but thousands of years ago. Here is what was said in 2 Timothy 3., New Testament Bible.

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.  (No specific date is mentioned).

People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy

without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good

treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God

having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people

They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible men/women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires

always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth

Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men/women of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. (even church people)

But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men/women, their folly will be clear to everyone. (we are still waiting)

If you really want to be informed about the future, you need not go to any paid source, or the library, just go to one of the sources that you have laying around the house. It has been one of the best sellers for as long as I can remember. About ¾ centuries. Most of us have more than one or two. It is called the Bible.

You just need to pick it up and read a few pages. Try it, you might like it. You will learn that there were times like this when the Teacher arrived. More especially; inequality, division, and groups taking advantage of other groups. The last, the least, and the lost.
